New Douglas, IL Wreck
Ben Planck contributes an Indianapolis Star clipping of the wreck of Nickel Plate Clover Leaf trains No. 98 (MB-98) and No. 49 (probably CS-7) on December 6, 1956. The trainmaster at Charleston was removed and so was Clover Leaf District Superintendent R. L. Cunningham at Frankfort several days later. This was done on the orders from Chairman L. L. White. Mr. Cunningham was well liked as superintendent and his removal was a big disappointment throughout the Clover Leaf. He exercised his seniority as locomotive engineer on the First Division.
