Front: Cleveland has always been a focal point in Nickel Plate history; it was the NKP's corporate headquarters throughout its history and the home of the Van Sweringens, who so profoundly affected Nickel Plate fortunes. The 2006 Convention revisited the Forest City, site of this quiet scene at East 75th Street. Besides being its headquarters, Cleveland was a great location to watch the Nickel Plate in action.

Back: The Fort Wayne Division was informally considered to be the fastest freight train running ground in America. A table-top geography was fully utilized by the Berkshires to make mile-a-minute speeds across its 125.1 miles. On June 23, 1935, almost-new 710 awaits a call to service at West Wayne.
