Car 831 - letters to the Editor

Front: GP35 910 was one of four "one-of-a-kinds" on the all-time roster and the Nickel Plate's most powerful diesel. She strikes a regal pose while working a local a Montmorenci, Indiana, but her early days on the Nickel Plate weren't all that happy.

Back: The 1920's were a prosperous time for the Nickel Plate, but they set the stage for the monumental struggles of the Thirties. Among the decade's happier legacies was the coming of the H-6 clan, mainstay of the freight roster until the arrival of the legendary 700's. Much-modified 644, Lima class of 1923, breaks in after a latter-day overhaul.
