The Nickel Plate Road Historical & Technical Society
The Nickel Plate Road Historical & Technical Society, Inc. (NKPHTS) is one of the oldest railroad historical organizations in the country. The Society was founded in 1966 for the purpose of obtaining, preserving, and disseminating information and material related to the New York, Chicago & St. Louis Railroad Company, commonly known as the Nickel Plate Road (NKP), and its predecessor railroads. Today we are an organization of over 1000 members including authors, historians, photographers, railroad employees and officials, model railroaders, and railfans of all interests. The Society provides each member with a quarterly magazine and interim newsletters containing articles, data, and photographs of a historical and technical character. We publish an annual calendar and numerous other informative works, hold an annual convention, and support NKP preservation projects. Please join us in celebrating the life of a truly great railroad - the Nickel Plate Road.

Much of the historical and photographic material depicted on this website has been submitted by society members and visitors to this site to be shared with other fans of the Nickel Plate Road. We invite your participation. If you have photos, diagrams, maps, or other historical documents that you would like to see displayed on this website, please contact webmaster@nkphts.org.
